The Rally Route

A Cruise-in, to the Clouds

We designed “THE ROUTE” with the businesses along Colorado Avenue and in Old Colorado City and Manitou Springs in mind, each individual Chamber of Commerce will benefit every year from the event. Even though we’re running on a holiday, mornings along this stretch from Colorado Springs to Manitou Springs have historically been very light on traffic before noon.
This is a true cruise-in style rolling rally — not a closed convoy. Normal local traffic will continue to flow and will naturally mix in with the participants, just like the famous Woodward Dream Cruise. Cruisers receive a clear pre-event safety briefing and are instructed to keep speeds safe, allow local cars to merge, and never block access.
To protect everyone:Paid professional traffic control at the start and at the designated turnaround zones (24/Cimarron return route and the PPHwy turnaround)
Clear instructions for cruisers to exit the route by 10:30 AM if needed so regular traffic can resume normally for the rest of the day.
Optional Winding Road Rally extension for those who want more miles, and a 40 Minute+ Driving Experience.
Our goal is simple: create a fun, family friendly, low-impact parade that brings spectators out to sit in front of their favorite shops, restaurants, and businesses to cheer on the cars and enjoy the patriotic atmosphere. More eyes on the route = more foot traffic and business for the hardworking local spots that open up on the 4th.
This careful planning keeps cruisers safe, spectators safe, and helps turn a normally quiet holiday morning into a memorable celebration for the entire community.
